Relationships is one of the ‘forbidden’ topics is most homes which makes it difficult for young people to open up on the same.

Girls have been taught to stay away from boys and fear them. Which I believe is the reason that we are having many irresponsible and abusive relationships.

Most parents and strict, therefore, bringing up the boyfriend topic will get you in lecture room. It is a fact that young girls have boyfriends and I would encourage you to tell your parents.

It is not easy to bring this topic up and that is why, I will give you a strategy to make it a ride in the park.

Steps of Breaking the News to Your Folks

1.      Find out whether your parents are okay with it
In most cases you will find out they are not okay with you having a boyfriend especially when you are in school. However, one day they will get comfortable with the idea.

If your parents are okay with you dating then spill the beans, if not go to step two.

This is literally always the elephant in the room. You know how your parents react so be smart when bringing up the topic.

Do it when your parents are in a good mood. And also start with the parent you connect better with.  Bring up general situations about relationships so as to create a conducive environment for the topic on relationships.
