A thought is an idea or opinion produced by
thinking or occurring suddenly in the mind. Approximately 60,000 thoughts run
through the mind in a day and 95% of those thoughts are the same as yesterday and the day before yesterday.
According to Wikipedia, Thinking is the mental
process in which beings form psychological associations and models of the
world. It is manipulating information when we form concepts, engage in
problem-solving reason, and make a decision.
Lately, I have interacted with people who are
not happy with how their life is. They feel lost, confused, and very empty in
their hearts and souls. Their faces look happy and vibrant but their soul is sad
and dead because of the dissatisfaction or confusion they feel in their life. Some are happily married and financially stable and one could think that money is enough to
make them happy, but that isn’t the case.
Deciding what to eat, dress, or where to live
are small decisions that we all can make without making a big deal out of them,
but it is the major decisions like career direction, marriage, and parenting that
can change your life forever. These are some of the tough decisions people have
to make and if not seriously and keenly thought out they can result in stress
and depression.

Human beings thrive and do well when the mind
is at peace even when there is chaos around them. That ability to control
the many thoughts that keep popping in and out of our minds. That is key for
all of us, to just think strategically and not turn the brain into a ticking bomb
that can explode at any time.
People throughout the world have universal
things that they go through or experience daily. Thoughts and choices are
amongst those things that unite us despite the country or continent we are in. Having random thoughts crisscrossing the brain
is just but a minor challenge that we face, the major challenge is the actions
or steps we take based on those thoughts.
A wise man once said that “Three-Quarters of
the things that worry man so much do not form part of the solution to the
problem man has.”
Choices we make are determined by our values,
emotional state, the people around us, and the environment we were raised in or
the environment we are in at that particular time. It is completely natural to avoid
setbacks and disappointment. None of us look forward to bad news, delays, or
frustrations. For happiness to really exist thoughts and choices should be
positively embraced, because going through life without a single worry or sweat is
just not possible. The choices we make in our life whether good or bad give
meaning to our lives.
Happiness is a mental or
emotional state of well-being that can be defined by positive or pleasant
emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Happiness and satisfaction in life go hand in
hand. Happiness is a choice. One can never be completely happy without being
satisfied with who they are or what they are doing. God created us to live a
happy, vibrant, and fulfilling life full of purpose and direction. All of that
depends entirely on us.
The thoughts we have
and how we allow them to dwell in our Minds are what determine the Choices we
make. All we all need to understand is that these choices need to be in line
with our values. Once the thoughts and choices align then happiness will
forever be our friend and close companion in all situations we face. Be it
failure or triumph.
